2019 Recipients
In June 2019, the donors to the Scripps Family Impact Fund reviewed a large number of applications from children’s-services charities from all parts of the country.
Our third-place recipient was Boston-based Reach Out & Read, a nonprofit organization that gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together. You can learn more about them here.
In second place was Alliance for Children, a nonprofit organization that operates child-friendly centers located in the Texas markets of Arlington, Fort Worth, Hurst and Lakeside. Its mission is to protect children from child abuse through teamed investigations, healing services and community education. There is more about their compelling story here.
Our top grant recipient in 2019 was Love146, a global organization with headquarters in New Haven, Connecticut. Since 2002, Love146 has worked to end child trafficking and exploitation through survivor care and prevention education. The trafficking and exploitation of children is one of the darkest stories and most severe human rights abuses imaginable. But for Love146, the hope of ending it is a reality – and the Scripps Family Impact Fund was honored to play a part in the organization’s continuing success.
